Some books you finish and immediately want to press into the hands of every person you know. Others you keep entirely to yourself, hoarding them like a secret. Either way, that feeling of finding exactly the right story at exactly the right moment is what reading is all about.
Rowan Prose Publishing knows that feeling better than most. This South Carolina boutique press has built their entire catalog around chasing it, curating genre fiction for readers who love hard, read fast, and are always hungry for what's next. Spicy paranormal romance, dark fantasy, cozy whodunits, pulse-pounding thrillers and everything in between, if it hits different, chances are Rowan Prose has it.
A Press Built Differently, for Readers Who Want Something Different
Rowan Prose was founded in 2023 and launched in January 2024 with a clear mission: publish the books readers actually want, including tropes that other publishers won't touch. While large publishing houses have long dominated the market with the same hyped titles, Rowan Prose carved out a different lane entirely.
They publish new voices just emerging onto the scene, second and third edition runs from beloved authors whose contracts elsewhere have ended, and stories that might have slipped through the cracks of mainstream publishing. The result is a catalog that feels genuinely fresh and deeply attuned to what genre fiction readers are actually looking for.
A Home for the Genres You Actually Read
Rowan Prose isn't trying to be everything to everyone. They've carved out a deeply focused corner of the fiction world that covers fantasy, thriller, horror, mystery, women's fiction, and more.
Whether you're the kind of reader who devours spicy paranormal fiction in a single sitting, prefers a cozy whodunit with your morning coffee, or stays up past midnight with a serial killer thriller, there's a corner of the Rowan Prose catalog with your name on it.
Their books are organized across three imprints:
